Rub a Dub Dub

Bath time is fun time around here. But it hasn't always been that way...

First bath at home

A bath wasn't always enjoyable :(

But now that she gets to have a real bath, the girl loves it.
She loves us to pour water on her belly.

Don't let the face fool you, she loves it.

First Sunday

This past Sunday (1/13/13) was Saylor Claire's first time to go to church. She was a little doll. Hardly made a peep. She stayed in her seat because we didn't want to take the chance of anyone wanting to hold her as we are deep in flu season. Her ensemble came from my boss and is so terribly adorable. I'm kinda sad I didn't get a better picture of it.

She did this the whole time! Which I am so thankful for :)

She hasn't quite gotten the hang of taking pictures yet :)
We enjoyed our first Sunday back since we had our girl. Over a month away was TOO long!

Playtime with Daddy

Tonight SaySay had some much needed :) playtime with Daddy. They read books (Mommy Loves Me & Brown Bear) and played on her mat. She just kicks and carries on when we read to her. It's quite cute.

That's a love punch!

She really does like to be read to.
This week she has also been enjoying her play mat/gym. She kicks and swings her arms. I'm told this means she likes something. She especially likes when we turn the lights on. I think. :)

This girl is bound to have a sense of humor. Daddy says, "Feel like you got an elephant on your chest? You may have COPD." COPD is not funny, but his recreation of the commercial is quite hilarious. He can be pretty silly some (most) times!

Wardrobe Mishap (Daddy Edition)

I knew it would happen eventually.

Brent walks in proud that he picked out her clothes and dressed her.
Me: Those are capris.
B: Oh, so they don't go with shoes?
Me: They don't go with winter!!
B: Oh yeah.

Bless his heart. Bless HER heart :)

Good try, B, Good try.

1 Month 1/05/2013

Can it be? Our Saylor Claire is already a month old!?

At 1 month:
*Our girl usually sleeps 5-7 hours at night, then another 4. Fabulous.
*She still gets the hiccups ALL.THE.TIME. And she eventually gets fed up with them and cries.
*She LOVES a bath.
*She started to smile while awake (instead of while she's dreaming).
*She still wears mostly NB size clothes, although a few outfits have been retired.
*She takes a paci when she wants to. I have tried different pacis starting with the one I like the most. She didn't like that one at all, so I moved on. She sorta like the next one I tried, but her paci of choice is my least favorite, unfortunately. Though I've learned that her bad choice of pacis is not such a big deal after all :)
*She's becoming more alert & active (as to be expected) and  we love it!

We think she is a SWEETHEART and love her to the moon and back!

Say Say's Visitors

Brent's job was to get a picture with everyone who came to visit (at the hospital or at home). And I must say he didn't miss ANYONE! (Well just one and cut off the tops of all their heads:) ) Good job, Love!
Stephanie (high school BFF) left her family and scooted right on over the night Saylor was born!

Happy Birthday, Saylor Claire!

Our girl is here! We had to MAKE her come, but she finally cooperated at 6:08 pm on Wednesday, December 5th. A week past her due date. I thought the labor and delivery was pretty fast and easy (yeah right!). All except the intense back labor I was having because she was sunny side up instead of face down. I TRIED to go natural and lasted 7 hours, but it just got to be too much. I demanded an epidural immediately. What?! It's going to take 30 minutes?! I can't last that long, I thought (and actually said to the nurse). I guess I didn't have a choice :) And I lasted. BEST.DECISION.EVER. Only to find out hours later it was a student nurse doing my epidural and she had a bit of trouble. (B said the looks on her face made him quite nervous.) Natural delivery? Never again! I say it was a fast delivery because the time seemed to fly by and they say most first labors are 12-14 hours. I was in labor a total of 9 hours including 30 minutes of pushing. That's fast in my world :)

Here's our 7 lb 10 oz, 20.5 inch sweetness:

Saweeeet!

Momma and her girl

Apparently we like nicknames. And it comes natural to just call her anything but her actual name. Nicknames so far: SaySay, SayClaire, Sister (I know, she's not even a sister), Baby girl, Cousy SayClaire, Daddy especially likes to use Cupcake and Nina likes Pumpkin Doodle.

We do love our girl and are so glad she's finally here! She a blessing!
